SGT5-4000F end user conference in Madrid - some statistics and pictures

One of the things that Gasre and GTUsers.com are working on at the moment is getting ready for the next gas turbine end user conference. The next end user meeting is for the engine type SGT5-2000E (V94.2). It will be held November 21 - 23 in Vienna, and the registration is still open.

In the meantime, let's recall some highlights of our last successful end user meeting, the SGT5-4000F (V94.3A) conference that was held in Madrid, Spain October 17 - 19. Here is a brief summary of the meet - in a few statistics and some photos from the event.

The SGT5-4000F conference brought together 200 end users, OEMs and vendors. There was a designated end user day with many presentations by operation and maintenance managers. The day ended with a very illuminating Q&A session, that in part demonstrated well the importance of end user meetings.

All highly technical perentations also held everybody's interest in a way that is testament to the importance of these conferences for OEMs and vendors.

Here is a little look at some of the presentations that were held during the event (from left to right / top to bottom).

Chairman Arturo Patiño Riveira (Marubeni Power Asset Management, United Arab Emirates) opened the conference. Khalid Al Mehairi from DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) was one of the presenters during end user day.

Werner Arnold elaborated on Arnold Group's latest developments. Teerasak Thapjan from EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand) showed some latest findings on turbine inspection.

Guido Schlausch introduced what was new at Siemens.

Leone Tessarini opened the Andaldo Day with the latest upgrades for the SGT5-4000F.

To recap the presentations during the event:

  • 3rd party service providers demonstrated their expertize in SGT5-4000F gas turbine maintenance.
  • General Electric exhibited their services as a new service provider.
  • Siemens and Ansaldo represented OEMs and gave comprehensive answers to the questions that end users had asked beforehand. They also presented the latest modifications and enhancements.

Vendor expo kept the participants busy during coffee and other breaks.

There is always something fun to look forward to during these meets. This time it was the visit to Real Madrid Bernabeu Stadium with Ansaldo Energia.
